“you finally got away huh? Where is everyone else?” I ask Indicating all of the other cousins that are absent. She plops down on the hammock facing the opposite direction of me. I am vaguely aware of her socked feet plopping near my face, but I keep my eyes on her waiting for the answer. She pulls out her phone as well, and heaves a sigh.
“From what I can tell none of them were able to make it, I mean think about it, me and you are the last of our generation who don’t have spouses and kids.” She says offhandedly. It is true, we both might be groan now at this point, but we were the youngest of our generation really. It’s a little sad to think about but I am distracted as my phone vibrates again and I receive a selfie video with a still screen of all three of the friend girls at the table. i absent mindedly click the video and even though my volume is nowhere near maximum it comes out pretty loud in the quiet empty basement. When the video starts Jessica grins at the phone.
“Hey Natie! Hope you’re having fun at your party tonight. Wish you were out here with the girls!” she says genuinely. I can tell that all three of them have been drinking a little bit by how they are swaying and grinning. This is made infinitely more obvious when Tina calls out to the camera a little Louder than she normally would have. “Hey you said you’re down there with your cousin? Is he single?” she asks, and the girls laugh to each other. I roll my eyes and look over at Kim who gives a silent laugh. Kristen leans in to the camera, not to be out slutted by her friends she almost yells into the camera. “Yeah? If his Dick is as big as yours, you should invite him with you next time!” The girls start to laugh, and I very quickly close the video. There wasn’t much left to it so it probably didn’t have anything else of merit, but I can feel my face turning red. Kim also has a small blush on her face but her mouth is open in a smile as she mouths the word ‘wow’ obviously Kristen had only said that to embarrass me in front of one of my guy cousins, but she definitely got me good. I put my phone down and give a rueful smile, choosing to just play it off.
“Yeah, Kristen is under the impression she’s one of the funniest people in the world.” I say casually. Kim nods.
“yeah I figured that was a joke. She probably just wants to see what your packing herself so she’s acting super forward about it. Girls be like that sometime.” She muses looking back down at her phone.
” Well sort of, I mean she’s already seen it so she’s just trying to be funny”
Again Kim raises an eyebrow as she looks up at me. I can feel myself blushing again. I had gotten about halfway through that sentence before realizing I was oversharing. I also failed miserably to end it casually. After a few more seconds of staring at me Kim looks back down at her phone. There is a bit of an awkward silence for the next minute or so. I almost jump a small bit when Kim suddenly pulls her leg back toward herself to look at her sock. I hear her muttered ‘damn it’ and then pulls off her sock. They do appear to be just plain white socks but I notice her fingering a hole in the sock looking annoyed. When she puts her foot back on my side of the hammock I do find myself distracted. It was not very often a girl had her feet this close to my face. Her left foot is bare and currently crossed over her ankles. This is giving me a great view of her sole less then a foot from my face. The bottoms of her feet were very pale in comparison to the top because of the tanning she has been doing. The toes are painted a pale blue color from what I can tell. I would say that her feet are quite pretty, her toes are a little bit on the long side, but her feet are slimmer then I might have guessed. But overall I would say very attractive. Maybe it’s the fact that for the first time tonight I am not actively hammering away at my phone, but Kim does notice me looking. She pulls both feet away from me a bit And for a second I wonder if she knows what I was thinking.
